Planking isn’t cool. During the slave trade, “to plank” was to transport slaves by forcing them to lay naked, with their hands pressed on their sides, and feet together in such grimy, horrific conditions all in between planks of wood. Almost 40 percent of these men AND women didn’t make the voyage.
The game started as a lying down game, right? and then it evolved to it being a game that makes you look dead in the weirdest of places. Now think about it, every single time you do a plank (game plank and not exercise), you are unintentionally mimicking a slave that may not have survived doing the “plank”. So, why choose to look dead and “cool” when thousands of humans didn’t have a choice to be dead by doing it before?
